i went for an interview for the post of Deputy Editor at a political e-magazine yesterday. had to fill a very very long form and also do an editing test as well as write a short article of your choice. i gave up after halfway filling the form and halfway editing the text.
1. politics is not my domain. i couldnt even remember the name of Malaysia's new Minister of Health (can't remember who replaced the infamous Chua Soi Lek!!).
2. the form was waaaay too long.
but honestly, if politics had been my domain, i wouldn't mind being a part of the team, coz they seem to be quite an interesting set up - hard-nosed journalists, fearless editors, a boss who was the COO of a major tv station. wow.
but i believe in trusting my gut instinct. so i don't regret not going through the whole interview process.
good luck to them! if our political scenario continues like it has done since the elections, they'll be getting a lot of new readers.
