space to think, space to be

my significant other needs space ... to find himself. and much as it breaks my heart, i'm gonna give it to him.

he says he loves me but he feels inadequate; ie he's not good enough, for this relationship. he says he needs space to sort himself out.

and i do admit that we have been living in each other's pockets and sometimes we do rub each other the wrong way.

so, yes ... i shall give him that space he needs. if he wants to see me, he'll call me.

of course, when he said that he needed space although he loves me, i could only think of two things:

1. he's trying to break up with me gently - the 'it's not you, it's me', excuse.

2. he really does love me but he needs to sort himself out.

whichever way the pendulum swings, i do have faith in him. i do. very much. and i hope he knows this.
